The Studio for New Media is always looking for new members to join our community of researchers interested in how to integrate new media into academic and professional practice.

Late in the 2008-09 academic year we upgraded our website, with a significant revision that required us to remove old accounts. So if you were a Studio member prior to April 2009, you'll need to sign up again for Studio membership.

Membership in the Studio is open to all students, faculty and staff at Iowa State University who are working in new media theory or production. The Studio is highly interdisciplinary, and all students are welcome to work with us. To join the Studio requires that you contact Geoff Sauer (the Studio's director) to schedule a time to meet and learn about how the Studio operates, sign up for an account on our servers, and get a tour of the Studio's (upgraded) facilities.

for previous members, re-joining

Because we updated our website to a major new version of our server software, in July 2008 we cleared all old accounts for current and past Studio members. Please fill out this form, indicating your name, e-mail address and the username you would prefer, and we'll set that up for you right away. You don't even need to meet with us—just fill out this form, and you'll soon receive an email from the Studio website with all the information you'll need to re-activate your account on the new site. Feel free to arrange for a time to meet if you'd like a tour of our upgraded equipment (and how to use it).

In August 2009, we’ll offer tours of the Studio for new students and faculty, in which people may sign up for membership and get the orientation in a small-group setting. Watch the Studio 'News' portlet on the left for announcements of dates and times.
